Potterversary A Success; You're Invited to the Afterparty on TheHPFan's New Forum
Posted by Victoria - 07 Jul 2012
Wow - that was a success! We had tons of fans tune in and watch Deathly Hallows Part 2 all at the same time - #Potterversary even trended on Twitter! Hurrah!
On behalf of all the staff on TheHPFan, I'd like to thank you all for joining us and making this event such a success - come and join us on our brand new forum for some Harry Potter discussion and a scavenger hunt!
Sorry we couldn't tweet - about half way through the film, we hit tweet limit! Oh no!
The clock is ticking and the Potterversary is set to begin momentarily (check what time in your timezone here) with a re-watch of the below premiere footage, that TheHPFan has put together. Once you've finished watching, you've got about 12 or so minutes to grab yourself a tissue box (you'll probably be needing one from watching those speeches again....) and a snack, and setting up Deathly Hallows Part 2 to begin watching at 11:30 EST (go to the time conversion we set up at the prior link, and add half an hour to the prescribed start time).
So, are you ready? Well, make sure it's time, and go ahead and start with the below tear-jerking footage of the Deathly Hallows Part 2 premiere, one year ago today in Trafalgar Square. Don't forget to tweet live with the hashtag "#Potterversary"
Don't forget to join us afterwards on the forum (link to be posted at 1:45) for the afterparty - Harry Potter discussions, polls, and even a scavenger hunt!

With a grand total of 74,290,864 points, Slytherin House has won the first Pottermore House Cup! Gryffindor placed second with 74,069,919 points, Ravenclaw in third at 71,815,917 points, and Hufflepuff in fourth with 62,596,368 points.
Slytherin has been rewarded for their points with early access, by 24 hours ahead of all other houses, into Pottermore's upcoming Chamber of Secrets book. Here are details from the official Pottermore blog:
Please be aware that only students who were in Slytherin when the inaugural Pottermore House Cup was awarded, will get early access.
For students who are not in Slytherin, don’t despair. The first chapters of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets will be available for everyone immediately after this 24-hour period.
Although the date of release is still unknown, the second book is expected sometime this summer.
Congratulations to Slytherin! Best of luck to all houses during the running for the second House Cup, which is already underway.
