(News, Layout, Content, Interviews, Gallery, Edits, Events)

I will never forget the summer I built TheHPFan—I had broken my foot and couldn’t play sports or enjoy the nice weather, and was stuck with very little to do.  I’d always enjoyed graphic design and writing, and had a budding Potter obsession, so I sat down at the computer and started playing around with a few web development programs.  I can honestly say that I knew NOTHING about fansites.  Absoloutely nothing.  The earliest versions of the site consisted of a page full of pictures I’d edited, and clicking games—no news, no galleries, nothing really to make it legitimate.  But I kept on working at it, and on October 29th, 2009, TheHPFan.com was born.  We remained a lo-key site with little to offer for about eight or nine months, until I finally starting waking up to the other sites around me, and discovering how to branch out.  I revamped the site, and got some administration help from my Potter crazed cousin, John Paul.  Today, TheHPFan is one of the top 10 English speaking Potter fansites in the world, and the best in Canada.  My experiences as webmiss have allowed me to interview Bonnie Wright, and meet Matthew Lewis and Daniel Radcliffe, and review plays, books and DVDs.  I have to say one of the most amazing experiences has been encountering people at Potter events (Matthew Lewis on NML in July 2011, Daniel Radcliffe in Toronto in January 2012) who know about the site, and who tell me it’s their #1 spot for news.  Keep visiting, and commenting and contributing—we love each and every Potterhead who comes on here!
