Levante will aim to secure their second away victory of 2026 when they visit Balaidos this weekend, as the club looks to complete the missing piece in their fight for La Liga survival. With only one win on the road so far this calendar year—a dominant 3-0 triumph against Sevilla at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán—the Valencian side has managed just two points from their last seven away matches.

Since Luis Castro took charge of the granota, the team has performed like a European contender at home, stringing together four consecutive league wins at the Ciutat de Valencia (against Real Oviedo, Getafe, Sevilla, and Osasuna). Under the Portuguese manager, they have suffered just two home defeats (against Valencia and Villarreal) and drawn three times (with Espanyol, Atlético Madrid, and Girona).
However, one of the key reasons Levante has languished in the relegation zone since matchday 14 is their poor away record. After a promising start to the season on the road—with only four losses before Christmas—the team has slumped significantly away from home. In their last seven away fixtures, Castro’s men have lost four times (to Real Madrid, Athletic Club, Barcelona, Real Sociedad, and Villarreal) and drawn twice (against Rayo Vallecano and Espanyol).
Despite these underwhelming numbers, Levante would sit outside the relegation places in a hypothetical away-only table, with 13 points—above Elche (7 points), Mallorca (9 points), and Real Oviedo (10 points).
Balaidos has historically been a fruitful ground for the granota. In their last ten visits to Vigo, Levante have returned with points on six occasions. They have won four times at the Celta Vigo stadium—during the 2006/2007, 2013/2014, 2018/2019, and 2019/2020 seasons—and drawn twice, in 2012/2013 and 2021/2022.
Luis Castro emphasized the importance of the upcoming match: “The most important thing in our lives is tomorrow’s game.” Kareem Tunde is also set to feature in what the team views as a final showdown against Osasuna, while Brugué warned: “It’s useless to look at rivals if we don’t do our job.”
